The Promises
They Look Great!!... You can tell a Hexagraph
is different just by looking at it. In a world of plain black sticks, each
trying to be different, these golden chestnut beauties stand alone. But their
beauty lies well beyond their looks. Hexagraphs provide exceptional performance
combining unmatched accuracy and amazing power. They are durable beyond belief.
The Hexagraph is a complete merger of tradition and technology; a perfect blend
of class, quality and value.
They Fish Great!!... The true measure of a fine
fly rod lies in its ability to deliver "spot-on" accuracy under a variety of
conditions. Hexagraphs are built from six segmented graphite strips. This
allows full unity and continuity of action, along the entire length of the rod.
Unlike a tubular rod, the solid blank does not have a "designed-in" load point,
nor does it deform and flatten into an oval when it is bent.
Our full-flexing actions and variable loading points
make them surgically accurate, and versatile with all types of casts.
The "feel" and "touch" of a Hexagraph will amaze and
please you. And just when you discover all their delicacy and precision, you'll
then marvel at the reserve power they produce for those few times you need that
extra long cast or to control and extra-large trophy.
They Don't Break!!...Since the Hexagraph blank
is solid, it is much stronger than the equivalent hollow rod. Hexagraph
breakage rates are far lower than for tubular graphite rods (like, ten times
lower - read warranty). The Hexagraph
does what you need it to do - every time - and it keeps doing it for years!
The Hexagraph Line-Up
Hexagraph Fly Rods are built on a series of straight,
uniform tapers. We utilize several different taper formulas to create our line
up of rod lengths, actions and line weights. Then, we outfit your Hexagraph
with the components, cosmetics and finish options that suit your personal
tastes, preferences and fishing needs.
We build Hexagraphs in a variety of models, with a
length, line weight, and action to fit almost any fly-fishing challenge. From
the tiny and delicate 5' 9", 3-wt. in our Small Stream Series to the 9' 6", 8-
and 9-wt. power rods in our Salmon and Saltwater models, you can put a "Hex" on
almost anything you're after. Your new Hexagraph, custom built to your specific
order, will be a workhorse you'll turn to day in and day out, but the aesthetic
detail we employ in our finishing will make it a family keepsake at the same
time. |
A word about the Hexagraph from
Dave Botelho
Everyone has a river or lake they consider
their home water. For me that is a small river here in my native New England.
I've fished these waters for years with my two Hexagraph small stream series
rods. My first Hexagraph is a little 6' 2", 2 weight, just right for presenting
size 22 dry flies to sipping Brook trout deep under overhanging branches that
line the river. The rod still has the reserve power to launch a big size 12
Royal Wulf in the bigger pools to aggressively rising trout. That's the beauty
of the Hexagraph, they are not just pretty rods they are working rods. Line
speed and length of casts are adjustable, like shifting gears in a car. MY
other Hexagraph is a 7"6" 3-4 weight selected to better fish the stocked areas
of the river. Strong wind, longer casts and huge fish are often the order of
the day; but a delicate presentation is still mandatory on this heavily fished
river.
I love my Hexagraph rods and am delighted to be
able to offer the rods. The Hexagraph line of rods is full and complete; with
everything from tiny rods for the smallest of freshwater fish to the saltwater
rods capable of stopping the largest brutes in the ocean, and everything in
between. Take a good look at them, I know you will be as impressed with them as
I am.

Finish Specifications
All Hexagraph Fly Rods are available in 2- or
3- piece models, feature Super-Swiss nickel-silver ferrules, premium-grade cork
grips, light-weight stainless steel guides and carry a limited, lifetime
warranty. Hexagraph Fly rods are built to order and can be customized to your
own wishes. The following are some of our favorite configurations.
How to Choose Your
Hexagraph
We build a complete range of lengths and line
weights as indicated on the chart below. First, select the
length, line weight and action to match your particular fishing challenge and
then review the finish specifications and cosmetic options for each of the
models we offer. There's a price range and a package of finish options to suit
every need and preference. We indicate the suggested ranges for the various
models, but we can build any rod in any form.
Actions
Hexagraphs are classic full-flexing rods that
load at variable points along their length depending upon any given cast. The
actions are deliberate, delicate, flowing and ultimately pleasing. They are
more versatile than those of today's fast tip-action hollow tubular rods. Our
medium action produces a tradtional cane-type stroke, the medium-fast is just a
bit quicker. Each of the actions possesses plenty of power for distance and
fish control when needed.
